Trust Wallet is a decentralized, easy-to-use mobile wallet that allows you to store, send, and receive cryptocurrency directly from your smartphone. Here's how to get started:
1. Download and install Trust Wallet
Get the free app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Trust Wallet supports many cryptocurrencies and offers a simple interface.
2. Create a new wallet
- Open the app and tap Create a New Wallet.
- Accept the terms of service.
- You'll receive a 12-word recovery phrase. This is the only way to recover your wallet.
- Write it down and store it offline. Never share or store it digitally.
3. Backup your wallet
- Confirm your recovery phrase by selecting the words in the correct order.
- This step ensures your backup is correct.
- Losing this phrase means losing access to your crypto.
4. Add cryptocurrency
- On the main screen, tap Receive.
- Choose a cryptocurrency (e.g., BTC, ETH).
- A QR code and wallet address will appear.
- Share the address or QR code with the sender.
5. Buy cryptocurrency via BTC Direct
Select “Buy” from the home screen.
- Search for your preferred crypto and select it.
- Enter the amount of crypto you want to purchase.
- Select BTC Direct & payment method you’d like to use.
- Select the Buy button and complete the remaining steps.
6. Track your portfolio
Trust Wallet shows your portfolio balance in crypto and fiat currencies. You can also view your transaction history for all incoming and outgoing transfers.
7. Security tips
Even though Trust Wallet is secure, take extra precautions:
- Enable biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition).
- Set a strong passcode on your phone.
- Backup your recovery phrase offline.
Only download the app from official app stores to avoid phishing.
