How do I use the Exodus wallet? (Desktop)

Follow this guide to use the Exodus wallet on your desktop and receive cryptocurrency via BTC Direct.

Step 1: Download Exodus

• Visit Exodus.io
• Choose the version for your operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux)
• Download and install the wallet. It will create a new wallet automatically.

Step 2: Receive Cryptocurrency

• Open Exodus and click on "Receive"
• Choose your cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin)

• Copy the address and paste it into your BTC Direct order form

  

  

  

Step 3: Buy Cryptocurrency

• Select “Buy” from the home screen.
• Search for your preferred crypto and select it.
• Enter the amount of crypto you want to purchase.
• Select BTC Direct & payment method you’d like to use.
• Select the Buy button and complete the remaining steps.

Step 4: Create a Backup

• Click the gear icon (settings) in the top-right corner
• Go to "Backup"
• Set a unique password
• Write down the 12-word recovery phrase and store it offline

Reminder: This phrase restores access to your funds. Keep it private and offline.

• Never store your recovery phrase online
• Use a password manager to keep passwords secure
• Keep Exodus up-to-date for security patches
