How to Use the iDEAL Payment Method on BTC Direct?

At BTC Direct, we aim to make buying and selling cryptocurrencies as simple and secure as possible. One of the payment methods we support for customers is iDEAL. This method allows you to make direct payments through your bank’s secure online banking environment.
 

How does iDEAL work on BTC Direct?

When you choose iDEAL as your payment method, you will be redirected to your bank’s environment where you can approve the payment. The funds are then transferred instantly, allowing you to receive your cryptocurrency quickly.

Steps to pay with iDEAL on BTC Direct:

1. Log into your BTC Direct account and start a buy order.
2. Select iDEAL as your payment method.
3. Choose your bank from the list of supported issuers.
4. You will be redirected to your bank’s secure environment.
5. Approve the payment via your bank’s app, card reader, or other verification method.
6. Once completed, your cryptocurrency will be sent to your wallet.

Transaction limits per bank

Each Dutch bank applies its own maximum transaction limit for iDEAL payments. Below you will find an overview of the limits:

• The maximum limit may also depend on your personal bank account settings (daily spending limits, security methods, etc.).
• If you need to make a larger purchase, you may have to adjust your daily transfer limit within your bank app or split the payment into multiple transactions.
• Even though your iDEAL transaction limit may allow high-amount transfers, your account-level cap (e.g., “Satoshi”) may still restrict your total buying or selling per day.
• To unlock higher limits, you can upgrade your account (e.g., from Hero to Satoshi or Trader) following BTC Direct’s verification procedures.
