MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet extension for web browsers, allowing users to store, send, and receive Ethereum and other ERC-20 tokens. Below we created a step-by-step guide on how to install, set up, and use the MetaMask wallet.
Step 1: Install MetaMask
- Visit the official MetaMask website.
- Download and install the extension.
- Once the extension is installed, the MetaMask icon will appear in the toolbar of your browser (usually in the top-right corner).
Step 2: Set up your wallet

- After writing it down, confirm the phrase in the next step.
Step 5: Complete the setup
- After confirming your secret recovery phrase, your wallet will be ready to use.
Step 6: Send or receive cryptocurrency (from or to BTC Direct)
To send cryptocurrency:
- Open MetaMask and click the “Send” button.
- Enter the recipient’s wallet address and the amount of cryptocurrency you want to send.
- Review the transaction details, including gas fees.
- Click “Confirm” to send the transaction.
To receive cryptocurrency:
- Open MetaMask and click on the “Receive” button.
- Share your MetaMask wallet address with the sender (this is your public address).
