I want to invest in a platform using cryptocurrency, should I be cautious?

Yes, you should as it is highly likely that it is a scam.

The prices of cryptocurrency are highly volatile and it's impossible to predict how profitable it will be to invest in cryptocurrency. Moreover, you will only have access to your cryptocurrency for as long as you keep them in your personal wallet. If you send your cryptocurrency to an "investment platform", in most cases, there is no way for you to access the cryptocurrency or get them back unless they allow it. This is why false investment platforms are a very popular scam nowadays. 

In case of a scam, ponzi scheme or some other form of fraud you will often see them promising one of the following:

• Outrageously high return (eg 10% or more per month).
• Guaranteed profit (there is no such thing).
• You receive a commission or kickback when you bring in new users or investors.
• The owner of the website or company is unknown.
